Bronze for Martin at the Bavarian XCO Championships!
On Saturday, Martin lined up at the Bavarian Cross-Country (XCO) Championships in Bad Alexandersbad. Starting from a challenging grid position, his initial focus was on navigating through the traffic without wasting too much time or energy.
By the first long climb, Martin had already pushed his way up to 5th place, trailing the front by just around 10 seconds. Maintaining a consistently high pace, he managed to close the gap to the chase group fighting for 2nd place by the middle of the second lap. The following laps were ridden together in this group.
In lap 5, Martin increased the tempo once again, managing to reduce the group to just two riders. The final lap began as a head-to-head battle, leading into the last stretch of the race. There, the efforts of the early chase began to show, and Martin couldn’t quite respond to an attack in the final singletrack section — ultimately finishing in a strong 3rd place.
A great race and a well-earned spot on the podium — congratulations, Martin!
