Race Report: Schönbuchtrophy

Felix Heinemann Takes on the Challenge at the Schönbuchtrophy

This past weekend, Felix Heinemann lined up for the demanding Schönbuchtrophy, a race consisting of two grueling laps of 24 kilometers each, with 400 meters of elevation per lap – a course that tested both endurance and race tactics.

Starting from the very back of the licensed riders' block, Felix immediately began working his way forward. With determination and a fast pace, he managed to push through the field and briefly catch up with the lead group. However, the intense tempo at the front quickly took its toll, and Felix had to let the leaders go. As the first lap came to an end, he also lost contact with the chasing group. In the second half of the race, he made a tactical decision to wait for the next group coming from behind. That move paid off – the group worked well together, maintaining a steady and cooperative pace. With five kilometers to go, Felix went all in. Launching a solo attack, he aimed to secure his position and avoid a final sprint. Despite his efforts, he was narrowly overtaken in the finishing sprint and had to settle for a close defeat after a strong and courageous performance.
